A Fine Meal...

Under a tangerine sky, the last of the day slipping into the Pacific below, Katie and I recently stepped into Chez Panisse, the venerable Berkeley restaurant. We left very happy.

La Recette...

It's all about the food, along with the places that it's found. Southwestern France will figure prominently in this, of course, but so will the markets, restaurants, and artisan producers of the stateside home of the San Francisco Bay Area. If off for a wander to some other place on the planet, you can be sure that experience will be tossed in to the mix as well. Will try to keep it as simple as I live it: good food and full days, all washed down with something worthwhile. If you see something you like, and want more of it (i.e. a recipe), let me know. In the meantime, I look forward to seeing you at the table, if only through these pages.

"As a gift for my parents 45th wedding anniversary I booked a week for us at Chez Gautier Cooking School. Graham is wonderful, the area is beautiful, the food was amazing, and the wine was perfect. We learned great local cooking techniques. What I wanted to show my parents the most was the difference between being a tourist in Europe (the running around to museums, constantly worrying about train/travel schedules, etc...) and being local in Europe. SLOWING DOWN AND ENJOYING LIFE!!! We got just that at Chez Gautier. Our favorite day was picking grapes with the local villagers and then sitting down for lunch at their home to the best meal of our lives. Thank you Graham!"
